Under the direction of club coordinator Jennifer Schuler, the New Horizons Elementary School’s SECME Club (Science Engineering Communication Math Enrichment) meets weekly to design and build science- and math-related projects. SECME students participated in a water bottle rocket workshop sponsored by the Seminole Ridge High School SECME. Seminole Ridge master teacher Erich Landstrom facilitated the workshop for area students. New Horizons fourth-grader Miguel Torregrosa (shown above, front row, second from left) had the third-longest hang time of 6.8 seconds. Torregrosa is pictured with SECME Club members and Schuler.
