Wellington resident Fabiana Ingram, a swimmer with the West Palm Beach-based Lake Lytal Lightning, recently represented the Puerto Rican National Team in the inaugural Pan American Sports Festival in Mexico City.
Ingram, 17, is a senior at Suncoast High School, where she is captain of her high school swim team. She competed in the 100-meter and 200-meter backstroke events, and the 100-meter freestyle. She made the A finals in all events, placing seventh in the 100-meter freestyle, sixth in the 100-meter backstroke and eighth in the 200-meter backstroke.
Ingram is in the midst of the high school season and training for the short course. She is looking forward to the upcoming swim meets.
The Pan American Sports Festival was held from July until the end of September at various venues throughout Mexico. More than 3,000 athletes from 41 countries competed in 23 sports.
