On Saturday, Sept. 1, the Okeeheelee Nature Center held an archery class for those trying to advance their skills.

Despite the damp weather, several archers were on hand to hone their skills and challenge themselves.

The targets were set up on the nature center grounds, away from the general public.

Pam Veenstra, assistant naturalist at the nature center, was eager for more people to know about the archery program.

“Today is for those that already know how,” she explained. “We have lessons every month for beginners and advanced.”

Last Saturday’s class was for semi-advanced archers. Some already had the basic idea, but they still needed training.
