Royal Palm Beach Mayor Matty Mattioli’s behavior was inexcusable at the council meeting held April 19.
Mayor Mattioli stood up and turned off the microphone of Councilwoman Martha Webster and said, “You speak when I call you; until then, you shut up.”
Then when someone from the audience, obviously shocked by his statement, stood up to object to the way he spoke to the fellow council person, Mayor Mattioli said, “I don’t even want to hear from you.”
His role as mayor is to run meetings and to be a role model of a good citizen. This behavior is an uncivil, unprofessional, rude and should be unacceptable to the village staff and residents.
