Luke Ready, 14, of Emerald Cove Middle School, traveled to Columbus, Ohio, on April 21 to compete in the Ohio Tournament of Champions national wrestling event open to state and national placers.
A total of 2,788 competitors from across the country entered the event. Ready went 4-0 to take first place in the 14 and under 160-pound schoolboy division.
Ready went undefeated this year to clench the schoolboy and junior varsity state title.
