Letter: Wise Words From Wise Leaders

Abraham Lincoln said, “I see in the near future a crisis approaching that unnerves me and causes me to tremble for the safety of my country… corporations have been enthroned, and an era of corruption in high places will follow.”

Lincoln was wise. He was right and would be saddened if he saw what his party has done to America today.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg said, “A woman’s right to choose an abortion is something central to a woman’s life, to her dignity… And when government controls that decision for her, she’s being treated as less than a full adult being responsible for her own choices.”

And this war on women is coming from the “small government” party!

Lyndon Baines Johnson said, “The vote is the most powerful instrument ever devised by man for breaking down injustice and destroying the terrible walls which imprison men because they are different from other men.”

How profoundly contemptuous that the Republican Party unapologetically denies millions of Americans the right to vote, because they think they’ll vote for the other party. How do these people sleep at night?

  1. There is no War on Women. It is the manufactured mantra trotted out every four years by women. One can guarantee that in 2016, we will, again, hear that phrase being tossed about to sway voters.

  2. What exactly is the war on women? Smart women care about the family, the economy, about having a job, and not living on welfare. Do you know that 4 of the 6 women governors are Republicans? Conservatives believe in respecting women. Republicans would never have allowed a man like Clinton to be a keynote speaker. The list of his brutality toward women is legendary. How about telling us how you feel about Bill Clinton?

Unemployment for women has increased from 7.0% to 8.1% under Obama. His unfavorable rating among women rose from 39% in April to 50% now. Intelligent women know that the so-called war on women is a fake war.

The DNC platform reads: “We recognize that individual right to bear arms is an important part of the American tradition.” Note that it is not merely a tradition it is a Constitutional Right to “keep and bear” arms. This Constitutional right “shall not be infringed,”

There is a real war, but it is by Democrats and it is a war on freedom and the safety and privacy of every American.

  3. The quote attributed to Abe Lincoln probably comes from the far left radical book written by Al Gore. After a few seconds of research on the web I found this article that has this to say about that.

“Apparently in Al Gore’s Assault on Reason, this quote appears and it too is cited to the same mysterious letter. At this point I found Andrew Furgeson had done similar research on the matter in his critique of Mr. Gore’s book “What Al Whishes Abe Said“. Furgeson had indeed discovered that this quote is a fake. And from here I found Thomas F. Schwartz’s Spring 1999 article “Lincoln Never Said That” in For the People: A Newsletter of the Abraham Lincoln Association Vol. 1, Number 1, Page 4. Mr. Schwartz presents his more in-depth research and findings. In it is a real gem by Robert Todd Lincoln, Abraham Lincoln’s son, denouncing this quote as a fake.”
