Letter: Liang Supports Jim Rockett’s Re-Election

After working with Jim Rockett on the Loxahatchee Groves Town Council for nearly three years, I feel he has been a great asset to Loxahatchee Groves. With his strong finance and audit background, he has provided great expertise and provided invaluable knowledge on how to become more transparent and more accountable for money spent by the town. He pays attention to detail, and it shows. Let’s not forget that he’s the one to thank for reducing our millage rate, and if it were up to him, the millage rate would be at 0.0!

He’s a big patriot and proud to show the world how much he loves his country. There are three generations of Rocketts in Loxahatchee Groves, representing the past, present and future of our town. He has a unique perspective as a resident, business person, father and grandfather in this great town of ours. During my time with him, he has shown to be a great neighbor willing to help out whenever possible.

As mentioned earlier, Jim has a strong finance and accounting background. He was able to find a way to lower our millage. Because of his accounting background, he meticulously reviews every RFP, contract and financial statement that comes before the council and provides great feedback. Jim also listens to the people. The first example would be during the negotiations with Callery-Judge. Another would be in regard to the current speed bumps on some of our letter roads. He genuinely cares for Loxahatchee Groves, and it shows. Jim was out on the roads during and after the recent storm, helping residents with flooding problems. He also helped design and construct our float that just happened to win first place in the recent winter parade.

It’s truly been a pleasure and honor to sit next to him for the past three years, and that’s why I support Jim Rockett for another three years. It’s people like him who make Loxahatchee Groves great. When you are filling in your ballot, vote for Rockett. Vote for progress. Vote for transparency. Vote for Loxahatchee Groves.

Ryan Liang, Councilman
Loxahatchee Groves
