Lake Worth Centennial

As part of the ongoing Lake Worth centennial celebrations, an Old-Fashioned Family Fun Day will be held Saturday, May 11 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. It is a free event for kids of all ages.

The event is being hosted by the Scottish Rite Masonic Center, 2000 North D Street at the corner of 22nd Avenue North and D Street, near the north ball fields in Lake Worth.

Featured will be lots of old-fashioned games like sack races, water balloon tossing, jump rope and more. There will be a toddler tent for younger kids to play safely. There will also be free pony rides and kiddy train rides taking children for tours of the Grey Mockingbird Community Garden. Costumed volunteers will be there to explain life in early Lake Worth.

Music will be provided by the Conch Stomp String Band and Station J. At 12:30 p.m., Judge Nelson Bailey will present his talk on Florida Cracker history.

Food will be available for purchase, everything else is free. Call Betty Resch at (561) 329-2706 for further information.
