Loxahatchee Groves Elementary School will hold its annual PTO carnival and silent auction Saturday, May 18 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the school grounds at 16020 Okeechobee Blvd., at the corner of Okeechobee and 162nd Drive in Loxahatchee Groves.
This event is a family activity that brings everyone from the school and community together for a day of fun. Activities planned include a rock climbing wall, dunk tank, obstacle course and plant sale. The event will feature inflatables, waterslides, a bungee trampoline, entertainment, local vendors and, of course, plenty of food.
Admission is free, though tickets or wristbands are needed for rides, games and food. These can be purchased before the carnival at a discounted rate or during the carnival at regular price.
The PTO is also looking for community businesses to help sponsor the carnival activities. Sponsorships range from $250 to $900, and all sponsors will be recognized in the carnival brochure. Next to each sponsored activity there will be a sign with the sponsor’s name. Sponsors also receive a beautiful plaque in appreciation of their assistance. Also, sponsors may hand out flyers and business cards at the event. Attendance at past carnivals has been between 1,000 to 1,500 visitors.
The carnival will also feature a silent auction of items and services from local businesses. The PTO is accepting donations for these silent auction items, and anyone who donates an item or a service will be recognized in the carnival brochure. Vendors can secure their place at the carnival for $50 per space and must bring their own table, tent and chairs. There will be no electricity available.
Silent auction donations must be made by May 10. Arrangements can also be made for the PTO to pick up the donated items.
For more information on ticket sales, vendor applications, silent auction donations or to be one of the entertainers or sponsors, call PTO President Lisa Zuver at (561) 904-9238.
Silent auction donations are tax deductible and all proceeds directly benefit the children and teachers of Loxahatchee Groves Elementary School to provide resources and materials that are needed in the classroom.
