Florida mandates an insurance discount for licensed drivers 55 years or older who complete a state-approved driver improvement course. The discount lasts for three years.
The “Coaching the Mature Driver” course by the Safety Council of Palm Beach County meets this requirement. It is a six-hour classroom course, which costs just $10 per person.
Attendees will learn tips and techniques to enhance their skills on South Florida roadways.
The Safety Council will be offering this course at the following Palm Beach County facilities in August:
• Aug. 19 at the South County Civic Center, 16700 Jog Road, Delray Beach.
• Aug. 30 at the North County Senior Center, 5217 Northlake Blvd., Palm Beach Gardens.
