Public Hearing Aug. 13 On Palm Tran Fare Hike

The Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners will hold a public hearing Tuesday, Aug. 13 at 9:30 a.m. to receive comments regarding proposed fare increases for both Palm Tran’s fixed-route bus system and Palm Tran Connection’s para-transit service. The hearing will be held at the Palm Beach County Governmental Center, 301 N. Olive Avenue, West Palm Beach, in the sixth floor commission chambers.

If adopted, the fare changes would become effective in October. A detailed description of the proposed fare changes is available at www.pbcgov.com/palmtran or for public inspection at Palm Tran’s administrative office, located at 3201 Electronics Way, West Palm Beach.

Those completing a comment card prior to the public hearing will be afforded the opportunity to be heard. Interested parties may submit comments in advance of the hearing by calling (561) 841-4360, by sending an e-mail to palm-comments@pbcgov.org or by writing to Palm Tran, 3201 Electronics Way, West Palm Beach, FL 33407. Advance comments will be accepted until 5 p.m. on Aug. 9.
