Krayeski Takes Over SFPGA Points Lead

Kaely Krayeski, 14, of Wellington, won the South Florida PGA Junior golf event held at Old Marsh Golf Club in Palm Beach Gardens.

The 36-hole tournament was held on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 19 and 20. Krayeski, competing in Girls Overall, Age 14-18, won the event by a 1-stroke margin. Krayeski recorded rounds of 75 and 73, for a 148 total. Krayeski has two wins and two runner-up finishes in her last four competitions. Finishing second was Mary Janiga, also from Wellington. Janiga’s two-day total was 149.

“This is a great win for Kaely. She now has the player of the year points lead, and that is very special considering that Kaely is only 14 and competing beautifully against girls that are two to four years older than she is,” said her coach, PGA Master Professional Kevin Perkins, who runs his golf academy at the Binks Forest Golf Club in Wellington. “It would be very special if she could hold on to the lead over the final two events.”
