Since 1986, The Music & Sound Retailer has hosted the Music & Sound Awards, honoring the best manufacturers and dealers in the music industry.
This year, Village Music Wellington has been nominated, along with three other stores, in the single-store category, as Best New Music Dealer in the United States.
Village Music owners Steve and Donna Willey are attending the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) convention, Jan. 21-26 in Anaheim, Calif., where the awards will be presented.
“Whether or not we win, just being nominated for this award is an amazing honor,” Steve said. “To be recognized alongside companies like Fender, Taylor and Yamaha is an incredible commendation.”
“This proves to us that following your dreams and working hard at what you love to do will bring success,” Donna added. “We came to Wellington with a vision of sharing our love for music and providing a musical education platform for the community, and it seems that our dream is coming to fulfillment. We are profoundly grateful to this community for their trust in us and support of our business.”
Village Music Wellington opened in November 2012 and has since developed a music-lesson program serving more than 200 students, as well as a flourishing retail business.
The growth of the business has been so dramatic that plans for expansion are already in the making. The company plans to continue to grow its involvement in the community by broadening its musical education programs as well as its brand offerings.
Village Music Wellington is open from 10:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. The store is closed Sunday.
