This summer, in an effort to keep neighborhoods beautiful, Wellington’s Community Services Department is rolling out its new Trash Can Plan.
The plan, organized in part by a High School Summer Service Program student, will have staff working with volunteers to label trash cans in the White Pine, Hawthorne, Periwinkle and Goldenrod neighborhoods.
Each can in these communities will receive a label that will be tied to the SKU number already present on the receptacle. In the future, if a labeled can is left out past the allowable timeframe, a code compliance officer will be able to enforce applicable ordinances.
