World Tae Kwon Do Center In LW Parade

The demonstration team from the World Tae Kwon Do Center in Lake Worth delighted the downtown crowds during the 50th annual Lake Worth Holiday Parade on Saturday, Dec. 12.

The team’s display of acrobatics and athletic ability with bo staff weapons was interspersed with sparring in the streets by the center’s tournament team. The fighters threw kicks, punches, blocks and turning techniques against each other to entertain the audience.

This was the first year that the students from the center participated in the parade, and they had the privilege to provide “elf defense” for Santa and Mrs. Claus. The Little Dragons (ages 4 to 6) and children’s classes (ages 7 to 13) helped carry the center’s banner and illuminate the night-time parade route with flashlights.

Head instructor Master Gina Anacleto, 5th degree dan black belt, passed out candy canes along the avenue with an invitation for a free lesson. However, neither coupon nor candy cane is required to redeem the free lesson offer at the World Tae Kwon Do Center, located at 6680 Lantana Road. For more information, visit www.mytaekwondocenter.com or call (561) 434-9700.

The demonstration and sparring teams will have their next demonstration the weekend of Jan. 29 at the Lake Worth Cinema Phoenix 8 movie theater at the premiere of the cartoon Kung Fu Panda 3.
