Letter: Movie Version Of ‘Cats’ Is Worth Seeing

I always enjoy Leonard Wechsler’s “I On Culture” column, but I somewhat disagree with his review of Cats. I have seen the show twice and quite enjoyed this movie version. It was more balletic (if that is a word) and less gymnastic. The large screen allowed for more ambitious scenery and props. The added song was enjoyable. And I loved that Old Deuteronomy was portrayed as female, a delightful departure. As Wechsler suggests, all the star-studded cast members did fine jobs within the confines of their roles. I do think it is worth seeing.
