Wolverine Band Boosters Association To Host Car Parade June 13

The Wolverine Band Boosters Association (WBBA), a nonprofit organization that supports the Wellington High School Mighty Wolverine Sound Band, will host an end-of-year celebration for all of the band members on Saturday, June 13 beginning at 10 a.m. at the Wellington Community Center at 12150 W. Forest Hill Blvd.

Like so many other school events, the annual band banquet had to be canceled due to COVID-19. However, in an effort to celebrate each band member for all of their hard work throughout the school year, the WBBA has planned this fun event to pass out awards and celebrate these talented students. The event will be a great celebration but also a safe event with all participants encouraged to follow CDC guidelines.

There will be a live DJ to announce each band member and play music, with lots of surprises to help make this a true celebration. The WBBA and the Village of Wellington have worked closely together to plan this fun event. Each band member will be able to drive through the covered portico in front of the Wellington Community Center to accept their awards. They will then be able to park in the adjacent parking lot and honk to celebrate their fellow band members while staying in their vehicles and maintaining a safe distance.
