Singing Contractors, Sacred Waters At Dolly Hand

The Singing Contractors

UPDATE: The Thursday, Feb. 3 performance by the Singing Contractors has been postponed.

Don’t miss the Singing Contractors on Thursday, Feb. 3 at 7 p.m. at the Dolly Hand Cultural Arts Center in Belle Glade. Tickets can be purchased online at www.dollyhand.org or by calling the box office at (561) 993-1160. All seats are $30.

The foundation of the Singing Contractors stems from a viral video of their poignant rendition of “How Great Thou Art,” performed in an unfinished corner of a home remodel, which led to more than one million views in almost 24 hours. The duo, comprised of Indiana natives Aaron Gray and Josh Arnett, has continued to amass a following due to their fun-loving personalities and compelling gospel covers.

Also coming up at the Dolly Hand Cultural Arts Center is a free “Sacred Waters” talk. Connect with Dr. Victoria Machado on Wednesday, Feb. 2 at noon as she explores the intersection of Florida’s water and spirituality within Florida’s present day environmental movement.

The talk will investigate what it means to care for the water and how stories can help us rethink how to understand this vital resource. Bring lunch and enjoy the Smithsonian Institute’s traveling exhibit “WaterWays” following the talk. Attendees should RSVP by Tuesday, Feb. 1 by calling the box office at (561) 993-1160.

The Dolly Hand Cultural Arts Center is located on the Belle Glade Campus of Palm Beach State College at 1977 SW College Drive.
