Wellington Marks Earth Day And Arbor Day

Wellington Village Council members and Tree Board members plant a pond cypress tree with help from Village Arborist William Gurney.

The Village of Wellington held its Earth Day and Arbor Day Event on Saturday, April 23 at the Wellington Promenade. A pond cypress tree was planted to mark the occasion. Earth Day and Arbor Day proclamations were read by Councilwoman Tanya Siskind and Councilman Michael Napoleone. Two FLOWER (Fabulous Landscapes of Wellington Earning Recognition) awards were given out to Herb Vazquez and Matthew Pressly. Earlier in the day, Wellington participated in the Great American Cleanup at sites across the community.
