As the school year begins in Palm Beach County, HCA Florida Healthcare wants teachers and students to feel supported and have the tools they need to succeed.
That’s why HCA Florida Palms West Hospital, JFK Hospital and JFK North Hospital teamed up to collect donations of new school supplies for the Education Foundation of Palm Beach County’s Red Apple Supplies Store, which is a free resource that equips teachers from Title I schools with essential supplies for their classrooms, so they don’t have to dip into their own pockets to pay for supplies.
The three hospitals collected a pallet of brand-new school supplies, as well as monetary donations from hospital staff. The project culminated in an afternoon of volunteering for hospital executives, including Palms West CEO Jason Kimbrell, JFK CEO Gina Melby and JFK North CEO Ashley Vertuno. They spent time volunteering at the Red Apple Supplies Store in Riviera Beach putting together teacher supply kits.
This project is one example of a continued commitment to community engagement across HCA Healthcare.
