Royal Palm Beach Councilwoman Martha Webster has been appointed vice chair of the Treasure Coast Regional Planning Council for 2013.
Webster was first appointed as a member to the council in 2009 by the Palm Beach County League of Cities. She served as secretary/treasurer during 2012.
The Treasure Coast Regional Planning Council is the only regional forum in which elected and appointed leaders regularly come together to discuss complex regional issues, develop strategic regional responses for resolving them, and build consensus for setting and accomplishing regional goals.
Elected officials serve annual terms, and gubernatorial appointees serve three-year terms. The Treasure Coast Regional Planning Council is made up of 19 elected officials and nine gubernatorial appointees.
The council operates a number of programs and services for regional planning and economic development designed to satisfy the needs of its public- and private-sector customers and foster the healthy and orderly growth of the region.
