Letter: Jarriel Supports Jim Rockett

I’ve sat on the Loxahatchee Groves Town Council for four years. Three of the four, I have served with Jim Rockett. I believe Jim has done a good job in representing the residents of Loxahatchee Groves. He has reduced our town taxes by 20 percent, at one time wanting to do away with them completely. He has 40 years of experience in accounting and financial planning, which helps to keep our management firm on their toes and allows us to spend our money wisely. Jim Rockett is a good listener. When the residents came and expressed their concern about speed humps in the community, he listened and agreed that something should be done to make them better for our residents. He took the time to drive to other communities, check out their speed tables and supported an improvement to our existing speed humps and a 30-mph speed table for our future roads to be OGEMed.

Jim Rockett will strive to preserve our rural lifestyle. He truly believes that the Groves are “the last frontier” of the western communities. He will fight to protect our home-based businesses and the character of our town. He has always had a commitment for the betterment of our community. He is an active member of our CERT Team, has volunteered on town committees, and when the storms come, he is out there riding through the Groves to see how he can be of help to those neighbors in need.

Jim is a man of great integrity. He’s honest and has the best interest of the residents of the Groves at heart. He is one you can call on and depend on if or when you have a problem. He will come, listen and try to help you solve it.

For myself, having grown up (and still living) in the Groves for approximately 52 years, I believe that most Loxahatchee Groves residents know me personally. Therefore, they know that my heart is in doing what is best for them. To keep our council on the right track and doing what is best for all of us, I am asking for your support and your vote for Jim Rockett on Tuesday, March 12.

The election will be held at Palms West Presbyterian Church on Okeechobee Blvd. in Loxahatchee Groves. Please come and exercise your right to vote for your town council.

Councilman Ron Jarriel, Loxahatchee Groves
