American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) Region 345 is currently holding registration for boys and girls between the ages of 4 and 18 for its fall 2013 season, which runs Aug. 14 through Nov. 16.
Registration will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on March 30 and May 4. Interested players can register at the AYSO Activity Building on the soccer fields at Okeeheelee Park (7715 Forest Hill Blvd.).
Both new and experienced players are welcome to register. The registration fee is $85 for one child and $80 for each additional sibling. The fee covers a basic uniform, insurance, a trophy at the end of the season and a subscription to PlaySoccer magazine.
Teams are divided by age and gender, and each team practices twice a week with a game on Saturday. Practices and games are held at Okeeheelee Park.
All new players must bring a birth certificate, and a parent or guardian must attend a parent orientation class. Classes will be offered Thursday, April 4 and Wednesday, May 8 at the AYSO Activity Building. “We are expecting to have more than 150 teams this year, so we are looking for sponsors, volunteer coaches and referees,” said Region 345 Commissioner Rose Arsenault “New coaches are being trained now, and we will be limiting the amount of children in regard to how many coaches we have. It is best to register early because teams will fill up fast.”
Region 345 will also be registering players for a Challenger Soccer Camp held July 22 to 26. Additionally, there will be a free AYSO Coaching Clinic on Saturday, May 11 for U-10 and U-12 coach certification.
