The Wellington Chamber of Commerce recently held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for TSG Realty, located at 12230 W. Forest Hill Blvd., Suite 157, in Wellington.

Velasquez was born and raised in Bogota, Columbia. He earned at degree in marketing and advertising from Politécnico Grancolumbiano in Bogota. After he graduated, he worked as an account manager with the largest travel agency in South America. He later worked at Radisson handling sales and large groups. He briefly owned and operated his own advertising agency with a friend in Bogota, but left for Miami in 2000.
Once in Miami, Velasquez began working with his father, who owned a home healthcare agency. He was in charge of all the company’s marketing. He also attended Florida International University to study international business.
In 2003, Velasquez became a mortgage broker with a small company, opening his own mortgage business in 2005. As the real estate market started changing, Velasquez activated his real estate sales license in 2009 and started working with Keyes Realty. He joined TSG Realty in 2011 and opened the doors at the Wellington location in 2012.
TSG Realty is one of several affiliates of the Solution Group, a Miami-based company established in 2008. The Solution Group (TSG) is a top wholesaler of distressed real estate in South Florida.
Velasquez said that the Solution Group has investors who are primarily from Latin America and Spain, and his company manages their real estate investments. The Solution Group found success in Miami, and has since expanded into Broward and Palm Beach.
“I have a lot of experience. I am very familiar with mortgages and very familiar with real estate,” Velasquez said. “I am active all of the time, so I know what’s going on with the market. I’m not just buying distressed properties. I’m also putting them back on the market for rent. I average five to six closings every month. I am bilingual, so I am here for the Latino community, too.”
