Tricho Salon in the Mall at Wellington Green recently added several stylists and a new colorist to its vibrant team.
Owner Damian Guardino, who took over operations at the salon in April, is happy to announce the addition of these stylists from his former salon, PyureAvedo, in Wellington.
Angela Zavala, colorist, and stylists GenaNinov, Tracy Plank, Cody Werbelow and Megan Richards, join the already talented team of Grisel Hinds, Rebecca Brooke, Samantha Sansone and Teresa Curniffe. This brings the total number of stylists on site at the salon to 10.
In addition to cutting and coloring services, the salon offers waxing and Keratin treatments.
In having the right team, the salon offers great customer service accompanied by an amazingly skillful staff, all highly trained to satisfy every beauty need, Guardino said.
“We moved onto our new journey because we want to marry fashion and beauty together,” Guardino said. “In New York, I owned my salon for 19 years, and one of my goals was to do the same here in South Florida. We did many Fashion Week shows on all spectrums, even launching Disney’s bridal line, and here it’s no different. We are doing Swim Week in Miami, so it’s really important if we are going to be in demand of the designers to have the perfect team to deliver all of their needs.”
The Tricho team knows about delivering beauty needs, he said. Guardino has done hair for more than two decades all over the world. He learned a lot on the road and has been able to apply that to his everyday hairdressing skills and is able to pass those skills onto his teammates.
Guardino is in charge of coordinating all the educational programs at the salon. “Our business has really exploded,” he said.
Guardino’s skills have been featured in many major magazines, including Elle, Vogue, Mademoiselle, Shape, Redbook and Glamour’s 50th anniversary edition.
Guardino has also appeared on Oprah Winfrey’s TV show on a segment devoted to Locks of Love, a public, nonprofit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children in the United States and Canada under age 21 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis.
After a two-year hiatus, Guardino said he is ready to get back in the saddle and build his business to the level he had in New York and beyond. “I’m ready to start that all over again,” he said.
Tricho Salon is open from Monday to Saturday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Call (561) 753-0052 for an appointment.
