Robbyn Ackner of West Palm Beach has been named chair of this year’s River of Grass Gala benefiting the Arthur R. Marshall Foundation for the Everglades & Florida Environmental Institute.
John and Nancy Marshall, along with Matthew and Thais Piotrowski, will serve as honorary chairs for the upcoming gala to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the Marshall Foundation. This year’s gala will be held Saturday, Dec. 14, at the Colony Hotel Pavilion (155 Hammon Ave., Palm Beach).
The members of this year’s River of Grass Gala planning committee include Amy Bernard, Erik Brown, Veronica Brown, Fredda Butowsky, Sally Byrd, Lois Cahill, Jimmy Cates, Yu Ling Cui, Norman Gitzen, Jaimie Goodman, Ashley Greenberg, Beate Hambster, Kim Hanson, Bobbi Horwich, Haylee Kaye, Bonnie Lazar, Denise Mariani, Nancy Marshall, Barbara McDonald, Thais Piotrowski, Michele Poole, Bernadette Shalhoub, Paul Suschak, Karen Vaughn, Phyllis Verducci, Kelly Wagner, Linda Wartow, Elaine Weber, Gisele Weisman, Jody White and Barbara Wilkinson.

The River of Grass Gala funds 100 percent of the foundation’s grassroots environmental projects throughout the year, educating the next generation about the critical importance of the Everglades.
