JULY 29 — An employee of the Village of Wellington called the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office substation in Wellington on Monday to report an act of vandalism. According to a PBSO report, sometime between 10 p.m. last Friday and 9 a.m. Monday, someone entered the rear patio of the Wellington Community Center and pulled out or slashed the screens surrounding the area. According to the report, one of the patio chairs also had a large, black scorch mark, suggesting it was burned. The damage was estimated at approximately $1,000. The employee suggested that it might have been done by unknown juveniles who skateboard in the area. There was no further information available at the time of the report.
JULY 23 — A deputy from the PBSO’s Acreage/Loxahatchee substation responded to a home on 62nd Lane North last Tuesday morning regarding a theft. According to a PBSO report, sometime between 1:30 and 6:30 a.m., an unknown man entered the victim’s fenced-in property and stole a barrel filled with pieces of scrap brass. The victim’s video surveillance camera caught the suspect entering the property and using a hand-dolly to wheel the barrel outside the fence to a waiting vehicle. The brass pieces were valued at approximately $500. There was no further information available at the time of the report.
JULY 23 — A Royal Palm Beach man was arrested last Tuesday night on charges of indecent exposure. According to a PBSO report, a deputy from the Royal Palm Beach substation was on patrol in the Crestwood Square shopping plaza at approximately 9:30 p.m. when he observed 50-year-old Jorge Montoya near the far north wall of a business in the plaza. According to the report, the deputy observed Montoya unbuckle his belt and unzip his pants, then begin to urinate on the wall. The deputy noted that the area was well lit and easily visible to people nearby. According to the report, the deputy made contact with Montoya, who said he was aware that the business had bathrooms available, but chose not to use them. Montoya was arrested for indecent exposure and issued a notice to appear in court.
JULY 24 — A resident of 58th Place North contacted the PBSO’s Acreage/Loxahatchee substation last Wednesday afternoon to report a case of fraud. According to a PBSO report, sometime last Tuesday or Wednesday, someone fraudulently withdrew approximately $16,000 from the victim’s Bank of America account. According to the report, the victim became aware of the fraud after her bankcard was rejected. The victim went online and found that the charges occurred in the Miami and Hialeah areas. There were no suspects or witnesses at the time of the report.
JULY 24 — A deputy from the PBSO substation in Royal Palm Beach was dispatched to the Super Target store on Okeechobee Blvd. last Wednesday night following an armed robbery. According to a PBSO report, at approximately 10 p.m. an unknown man with a bandana over his face entered the business through the east doors, brandishing a black revolver. According to the report, the suspect approached a register and told the cashier to put all of the money into a black bag. The cashier complied, and the suspect fled the store. The suspect was described as a black male, approximately 5’10” and wearing a green Miami Hurricanes hoodie. There was no further information available at the time of the report.
JULY 27 — A Royal Palm Beach man was arrested early last Saturday morning on charges of fraud and trespassing after being found in possession of stolen credit cards. According to a PBSO report, a deputy from the Royal Palm Beach substation was on patrol near the Goodwill store on Belvedere Road at approximately 4 a.m. when he observed an unknown person sleeping on a couch outside the business. According to the report, the deputy made contact with 22-year-old Alejando Morales, who said he was not homeless but did not say why he was sleeping on the donated couch. During a search of his person, the deputy found a brown wallet that contained three credit cards with different names on them. According to the report, Morales was also in possession of an empty green leather Prada purse and a benefits card in a different name. Morales was arrested and taken to the Palm Beach County Jail where he was charged with trespassing and larceny of a credit card.
JULY 29 — A resident of the Lakeside Shores community called the PBSO substation in Wellington on Monday morning to report a vehicle burglary. According to a PBSO report, the victim parked his vehicle on his driveway last Friday night, leaving it unlocked. The following morning, he discovered a rubber glove and a paper towel in his driveway. Then, at approximately 8 a.m. Sunday morning, the victim discovered that the spare tire in his trunk was missing. According to the report, the victim also found a rubber glove on the floorboard of the vehicle. The victim said his GPS device was left in his car and nothing else appeared to be taken. According to the report, several neighbors reported finding rubber gloves and paper towels on their property as well. The stolen tire was valued at approximately $200. There were no suspects at the time of the report.
JULY 29 — A deputy from the PBSO substation in Royal Palm Beach was dispatched Monday to a gym on Southern Blvd. regarding a theft. According to a PBSO report, the victim worked out at the gym last Sunday afternoon and forgot his gym bag in a locker, which was not locked. When the victim contacted the gym Monday, he found his bag had been taken. According to the report, the victim said the bag contained his checkbook, as well as a .380 semi-automatic pistol with laser sight and a box of 50 rounds of .380-caliber ammunition. The stolen items were valued at approximately $500. There were no suspects or witnesses at the time of the report.
JULY 29 — A deputy from the PBSO’s Acreage/Loxahatchee substation was dispatched Monday to Palms West Hospital regarding a theft. According to a PBSO report, the victim, a hospital patient, said that sometime between 5 p.m. last Sunday and 1 a.m. the following morning, someone stole her Steve Madden wallet containing her bankcard. According to the report, the victim went to visit her mother in the intensive care unit last Sunday evening and placed her wallet on her bed beneath a blanket. When she returned to her room, she was given pain medication and went to sleep. According to the report, when the victim awoke, she could not find her wallet. The victim asked her nurses, who said they had not seen the wallet. There were no suspects or witnesses at the time of the report.
