The Seminole Ridge High School wrestling team, coached by Frank Lasagna, Andrew Bradbury and Ronnie Thompson, defended its title and won first place at the annual Park Vista Open on Tuesday, Nov. 26.
Seminole Ridge defeated Suncoast High School 72-0, Lake Worth High School 74-6, Atlantic High School 60-15 and, for first place, defeated Park Vista High School 48-25.
Sophomore Jarrod Smiley won Most Outstanding Wrestler for the lower weights and senior Nick Keller won for the upper weights.
Jarrod Smiley (113 lbs.), Jack Paul (132 lbs.), Liam LaPeter (152 lbs.), Robert LaPeter (160 lbs.), Nick Keller (182 lbs.) and Tory Artiles (285 lbs.) all finished the meet undefeated (4-0).
Other Seminole Ridge wrestlers included: Cisco Farr (120 lbs.), Calvin Crumrine (126 lbs.), Lance Herrunzie (138 lbs.), Victor Olafin (145 lbs.), Colton Lyons (170 lbs.), Troy Soles (195 lbs.) and Gerard Duchatelier (220 lbs.).
