Giving is definitely better than receiving. That’s the lifelong message that the Rosarian Academy hopes to teach each of its students through service opportunities offered throughout the year.
But there’s an even greater focus on serving and giving during the holiday season in preparation for Christmas Day.
For more than 10 years, the seventh-grade class has led the school-wide effort to collect unwrapped toys for needy children who may not otherwise receive anything for Christmas.
After spending two weeks collecting toys, on Monday, Dec. 16, Rosarian students loaded a Palm Beach County Health Department truck with toys that will make more than 500 children happy this Christmas.
Norma Williams, volunteer services coordinator for the Palm Beach County Health Department, expressed her gratitude to Rosarian students. “Without these donations, some children may never receive a toy,” she said. “We are so grateful for Rosarian’s generosity.”
The Health Department distributes the toys to children in Palm Beach County who are currently benefiting from their services.
