The Wellington Village Council will discuss the proposed fluoridation of the village’s drinking water during its regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, June 28. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at the Wellington Municipal Complex (12300 W. Forest Hill Blvd.).
The purpose of the discussion is to hear public comments and determine whether or not to reintroduce fluoride into Wellington’s drinking water. Staff will provide a presentation detailing information about both sides of the fluoridation debate.
On Oct. 26, 1999 Wellington’s council first approved the installation of the equipment needed to add fluoride to the public drinking water supply. On Jan. 28, 2014, a majority of the council voted to eliminate drinking water fluoridation. For more info., visit www.wellingtonfl.gov.
