Did State Attorney Dave Aronberg’s office ever conduct an investigation to determine if voter fraud occurred in the Seminole Improvement District election to incorporate Westlake as a city? It appears that five voters with ties to the property owner and developer used a business address as a legal residence address on their voter’s registration.
All five cast their “Yes” vote for incorporation on a mail-in ballot due on June 20, 2016. This vote occurred before the developer constructed a single new home or apartment. On June 20, 2016, the Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections, Susan Bucher, and canvasing board member, Commissioner Steve Abrams, promptly certified the results of the mail-in-ballot election without question or pause.
Considering the gravity of this incorporation vote, did the Palm Beach County Commission ever ask their Planning, Zoning & Building Department to determine if there were any legally permitted residential structures on the former orange grove property that is the Seminole Improvement District? Those working in the PZB department certainly would know whether or not any legal residential structures exist there. Was county code enforcement ever asked to investigate this matter? According to the Florida Division of Elections, it is a felony to falsify a legal residence address on a voter’s registration. All involved should be painfully aware of this fact.
