Glen Beaver, a golf teaching professional with Professional Golf Services Inc. is offering ladies an opportunity to learn how to play golf in seven weeks at the Okeeheelee Golf Course, beginning Feb. 5.
Over the course of the seven weeks, participants will learn the basics about golf, including common terms, rules of the game, how to grip the golf club, golf stance and hitting the ball. They can expect to learn how to swing, drive, pitch, chip and putt in a group setting on and off the course.
Beaver has found that female students enjoy learning in a group setting because it gives them an opportunity to learn something with a friend or make new friends. Many of his students are motivated to learn so they can play golf with their children or husbands.
The class will be held from 4:30 to 5:30 pm, and prior registration is required. The cost is $20 weekly or $120 for the seven weeks. Golf clubs will be provided. If you miss a class, you can pick up where you left off the following week.
