OCT. 1 — A deputy from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office substation in Royal Palm Beach was dispatched Monday night to a home on Lakeview Drive regarding a burglary. According to a PBSO report, sometime between 5 p.m. last Friday and 10:30 p.m. Monday, someone entered the home through an unlocked, open sliding glass door and stole $5,518 in jewelry. The victim said her co-worker was watching the home. According to the report, the co-worker said he had friends over and believed one of them unlocked the door and returned later for the jewelry. There was no further information available at the time of the report.
SEPT. 28 — An employee of the Target Superstore on Okeechobee Blvd. contacted the PBSO substation in Royal Palm Beach last Friday regarding a case of shoplifting. According to a PBSO report, at approximately 7 p.m. last Thursday three white males entered the store separately, and one of them entered the electronics department and selected a 47-inch flat-screen television from the shelf. According to the report, the suspect then exited the store out the front door without making any attempt to pay for the item. Video surveillance footage showed the suspect put the television in a blue Ford Escape and then returned to the store. The three suspects then exited the store one at a time, got into the vehicle and fled in an unknown direction. The stolen television was valued at $619.99. According to the report, the same three men returned to the store last Friday but were deterred from stealing another television by a loss prevention officer. The suspects were then seen inside another Target store on Palm Beach Lakes Blvd., where another loss prevention officer stopped them from stealing a third television. According to the report, two of the men fled the Palm Beach Lakes store, but one was apprehended. According to the report, photos and video surveillance footage place all three suspects at each location. The apprehended suspect was able to identify the other two men, but no arrests had been made at the time of the report.
SEPT. 28 — A deputy from the PBSO substation in Royal Palm Beach was dispatched to a business on Business Parkway last Friday afternoon regarding a vehicle burglary. According to a PBSO report, the victim arrived for work at approximately 6 a.m. and left her Coach purse containing her car keys, credit cards, driver’s license and $2,800 cash under the front passenger seat. The victim said that at approximately 3 p.m. she noticed that her driver’s-side front window had been smashed out. According to the report, the perpetrator(s) removed the purse from the car. There were no suspects or witnesses at the time of the report.
SEPT. 28 — A deputy from the PBSO substation in Wellington was dispatched to a home on Regal Court East last Friday evening regarding an attempted burglary. According to a PBSO report, the victim arrived home for lunch at approximately 3 p.m. and recalled locking up the home before leaving. When she returned at approximately 4:45 p.m. and attempted to enter her home, she discovered that her key would not turn and that there were deep pry marks next to the lock. According to the report, the victim then went to her patio, where she observed more deep pry marks on her rear sliding glass door. The victim contacted the PBSO, and deputies arrived to clear the home, which appeared neat and secure. According to the report, the deputy believes that entry was made only on the porch. There was no further information available at the time of the report.
SEPT. 29 — A Royal Palm Beach man contacted the PBSO substation in Royal Palm Beach last Saturday regarding a case of aggravated battery. According to a PBSO report, the victim said he was walking on Royal Palm Beach Blvd. near the Crossroads Shopping Center late last Thursday night when he was approached by two unknown black male teenagers wearing gray hooded sweatshirts. According to the report, one of the suspects had a revolver in his hand, pointed toward the ground. The victim said he struck the suspect with his elbow and began to run away but was tackled from behind by the second suspect, causing him to fall. According to the report, the first suspect then hit him on the hand with the revolver as the victim tried to defend himself. The victim said he was able to subdue one of the suspects by lifting him up and driving him into the ground. According to the report, the victim was able to flee to his home. The victim said he later saw two men he believed to be the suspects with a third teen. There was no further information available at the time of the report.
SEPT. 30 — A West Palm Beach woman was arrested last Sunday afternoon on charges of shoplifting from the Walmart Supercenter on Belvedere Road. According to a PBSO report, at approximately 1:14 p.m. a loss prevention officer observed 31-year-old Tanika Williams enter the electronics department, along with an unknown male. According to the report, Williams was pushing a shopping cart with a large plastic tote inside. The officer said he observed Williams and the male suspect put several items, including headphones and a camera in the tote. They proceeded to exit the front doors without making any attempt to pay for the items. According to the report, a loss prevention officer stopped Williams, but the male fled on foot into the parking area. The officer recovered $1,554.38 in stolen items. According to the report, Williams refused to reveal the identity of the male suspect. She was taken to the county jail, where she was charged with felony retail theft.
