Polo Park Middle School’s geometry students used their knowledge of geometric and mathematical principles to create a very unique memorial for those who died at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.
Titled “The Properties of Geometry Are Eternal, As Are the Lives, Accomplishments and Memories of the Fallen 17,” students created geometric shapes and applied concepts using 17 in all of their measurements.
Students were looking for alternative ways to channel their emotions. The students felt that creating this type of memorial had a closer connection since they were able to use what they learned
