The Rotary Club of Wellington and the Village of Wellington hosted a World Peace Ceremony at Wellington Rotary Peace Park on Sunday, Sept. 23. The ceremony honored students from local schools. The SMART student mediator award was presented to O’Mari Burgess of Wellington High School, while the Wellington Community Peace Award was presented to Principal Betsy Cardozo of New Horizons Elementary School. The ceremony also included the words “may peace prevail on earth” spoken in eight languages, performances from the Palm Beach Central High School Traditions choir and a release of peace doves.
