The Palm Beach County Office of Financial Management and Budget (OFMB) has once again received the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) of the United States and Canada.
This marks the 26th consecutive year OFMB has been recognized by the Chicago-based nonprofit professional organization. OFMB Director Liz Bloeser accepted the Certificate of Recognition for Budget Presentation on behalf of her staff.
The award reflects a commitment to meet the highest principles of government budgeting. In order to receive it, OFMB must satisfy a stringent set of nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation. These guidelines are designed to show how well the Palm Beach County budget serves as a policy document, a financial plan, an operations guide and a communications device.
The GFOA serves approximately 17,000 government finance professionals throughout North America. The organization’s Distinguished Budget Presentation Award program is the only national awards program for governmental budgeting.
