Local Gymnasts Shine At Cruise Classic In Cooper City

The CATS of Wellington competitive gymnastics team recently took part in the 2013 Cruise Classic, held Feb. 2-3 in Cooper City.

In Level 2, Keelin Coleman placed first all around in her age group with a 38.1, including first place on floor with 9.75, and scores of 9.55 on vault, 9.2 on bars and 9.6 on beam. Sophia Roberts was awarded scores of 9.65 on vault, 9.3 on bars (first place), 9.5 on beam and 9.4 on floor. Enacoret Parziale earned scores of 9.45 on vault, 9.25 on beam and 9.05 on floor. Aliyah Perez received scores of 9.3 on vault, 9.1 on beam and 9.2 on floor. Natalie Bornel earned a 9.2 on vault, 9.15 on bars and 9.2 on beam. Alyssa Santoro was awarded a 9.15 on vault, 9.2 on beam and 9.2 on floor. Jordan Welsh received 9 on bars and 9.4 on beam. Ava Delafe earned 9.05 on vault and 9 on floor. Kyleigh Gardner earned 8.9 on both vault and floor. Allison Franck was awarded 9.05 on bars. The Level 2 girls finished second in the team standings.

In Level 3, Angelina Apicella placed first all around in her group with a 37.6, including first vault with 9.5, and scores of 9.5 on bars, 9.3 on beam and 9.3 on floor. Zoe Kyrkostas was awarded first place on bars with 9.6, and scores of 9.3 on vault, 9.4 on beam and 9.35 on floor. Ruth Anne Lively earned 9.35 on vault, 9.25 on bars, 9.5 on beam and 9.4 on floor. Kayla Levins was awarded first on vault with 9.4, and scores of 9.2 on bars, 9.05 on beam and 9.3 on floor. Sasha Campbell received 9.15 on vault, 9.4 on bars and 9.2 on floor. Sophia LaCosta earned scores of 9.15 on both vault and bars, and 9 on both beam and floor. Sophia Rodriguez scored 9.1 on vault, 9 on beam and 9.3 on floor. Katie Lettera was awarded 9.2 on vault and 9.1 on floor. Arianna Nettles received 9.1 on bars and 9.2 on floor. Nicole Campos earned 8.9 on bars. Hailey Gruber scored 8.75 on vault. The Level 3 girls finished third in the team standings.

In Level 4, Allison Bunchuk earned scores of 9.35 on vault, 9.175 on beam and 9.15 on floor. Alexis Merritt was awarded 9.575 on vault, 9.175 on bars and 9.1 on floor. Alexa Alvarez received scores of 9.6 on vault, 9.025 on bars and 9.25 on floor. Faith Campagnulo earned 9.575 on vault and 8.9 on floor. Hannah Hutchins was awarded 8.75 on vault and 8.85 on floor. The Level 4 girls finished second in the team standings.

In Level 5, Arabella Campbell earned first on bars with a score of 9.05, and a score of 8.65 on vault. Bianca Sileo scored 8 on vault and 8.1 on bars. Brieanna McCaffrey received 8.7 on vault and 8.475 on floor. The Level 5 girls finished second in the team standings.

In Level 7, Nicole Rosenthal was awarded 9.15 on vault and 8.825 on floor. Michela Arbocco received 8.7 on bars and 8.65 on floor. Elia Aird scored 8.65 on vault and 8.75 on bars. The Level 7 girls finished fourth in the team standings.

In Xcel Open USAG, Isabella Padilla received 9.05 on beam and 9.225 on floor. Alexia Moraes was awarded scores of 8.6 on bars and 8.775 on floor. This team finished fifth in the team standings.

The girls are trained by coaches Margarita Martinez, Felipe Restrepo and Joao Levy.
