Letter: Beware Acreage Break-Ins

I live in The Acreage. My house was broken into eight days ago. Two hours later, the couple across the canal had their house broken into. This all happens during daytime hours.

I had Channel 12 out here last week. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office did not bother interviewing my neighbor, who saw a truck on my property at 11 a.m. I am the one who took pictures of the track marks.

There is another family in this area who had their house broken into less than a month ago. Information of possible suspects, the vehicle description and tag number all were called in to the PBSO. It seems the PBSO is extremely slow to respond to burglar alarms, giving the thieves plenty of time of commit their crimes.

It’s always the same. End of the street by a canal, in the middle of the day, glass sliding doors. It appears to be a group of three: two guys and a girl in a beaten-up old work truck with a wooden bed. They’re in and out in 15 minutes.

  1. I’m not surprised by this at all. Even with video
nothing is done . Even if you know exactly who
did what, nothing is done. Very strange what is
going on here. And it has been going on for many
years. Wake up people! Open your eyes!
